I've been buying a 5 dollar shampoo that is supposed to thicken nicely, but it isn't that great.
If I bought one for 20 bucks, would it make a difference?Would a expensive hair thickening shampoo differ alot from a cheap one?
I use big sexy hair extra volume shampoo on my hair. It keeps it clean, and helps me to get volume when I style it, but there's not a significant difference. The only kind of shampoo that I could see being great for thickening is one with keratin in it... (I believe Joico's K-Pak line has keratin.)
The difference is that cheap shampoos don't have a whole lot of ';extras'; like keratin, pure oils, and other extracts that can be beneficial to your hair. They also tend to create a lot of build-up, which can weigh your hair down and make it dull looking over time (think: pantene.) They can also be damaging to artificial color. And they are not as highly concentrated... so you get what you pay for. I promise, you'll get your money's worth with a professional product.
Don't expect anything Miraculous, though. Shampoo is inherently designed to clean, not thicken. Try a protein treatment at your salon for more immediate results.Would a expensive hair thickening shampoo differ alot from a cheap one?
